Peas and tuna with aromatic rice

Time: 30 min


Ingredients for four people

  • 4 packets of Rio Mare Pronto con Gusto Peas and Tuna
  • 300g of long grain rice
  • 1 small red onion 
  • 2 teaspoons of sesame seeds
  • 1 sachet of saffron
  • 40ml of olive oil
  • salt 


1. Boil a litre of salted water. Add the rice and a sachet of saffron and drain the rice as soon as it is ready (about 12 minutes).
2.  Chop the onion and brown it in a small pan with the oil and the sesame seeds until it is slightly golden.
3. Dress the rice with the onion and the browned sesame seeds. Place some rice on each plate along with a packet of Pronto con Gusto Tuna and Peas and serve immediately.

Pilaff rice is even tastier.

Brown a chopped onion in oil or butter. Add 350g of rice and toast for 4 minutes, stirring regularly. Add 6dl of stock and cook for 15 minutes on a low flame without stirring. When cooked, add some butter or oil and separate the rice grains with a fork.
